Workshops and Training Programs
Multi-Tiered System of Support
This workshop series is designed to support staff navigating the MTSS structure. Discussions around struggling students, evidence based practices and strategies will be explored. Specifically, participants will understand the three tiers of support and learn how to implement these supports with fidelity. Progress monitoring, data collection and case studies will be explored. The district DCAP will also be unpacked as another tool for staff and students alike.
Creating a Comprehensive DCAP
Massachusetts General Laws requires the adoption and implementation of a District Curriculum Accommodation Plan (DCAP). This training will support district administrators and participants to develop, edit or "revamp" their current DCAP document. They will reference multiple exemplar DCAPs and be able to create appropriate documents for elementary, middle, and high schools.
Skillbuilding Strategies for All Students
This workshop is designed to empower all educators to invite students to think about who they are as learners, what they need to be successful, and how to become more independent. Participants will leave refreshed and confident in meeting the needs of these students; both academic strategies will be shared in addition to support with relationship building with difficult/defiant students.
Implications of Disabilities in the Classroom
This workshop explores the multiple types of educationally based disabilities and how they manifest both in and out of the classroom in the view of how to help students access the curriculum, accommodations and modifications. Together we will review different learning profiles and determine strategies to best support them.
